College football is back! And with it, Lee Corso gave fans his first “not so fast” of the year during Saturday’s edition of College GameDay.
This week’s primetime game is one of the best in recent years. No. 3 Clemson has a date with the fifth-ranked Georgia Bulldogs in Charlotte, N.C. Saturday night. The winner will have merit to claim the No. 1 ranking in the country and immediately place itself in the College Football Playoff conversation.
ESPN’s College GameDay crew spent plenty of time discussing Saturday night’s primetime game. And, as always, Corso ended the show by making his headgear selection. The 86-year-old had plenty of good things to say about Clemson and came close to picking the Tigers. But he made a last-second switch and went with the Georgia Bulldogs.
“It’s the year of the Dawg,” Corso said. Take a look.

This is good news, Georgia fans. Lee Corso is right more than he’s wrong. He’s 228-121 with his headgear selections. Last year in particular, he went 8-1 with his headgear selections, as well.
The key for Georgia against Clemson Saturday night will come down to its defensive line versus Clemson’s offensive line. The Tigers are inexperienced up front on the offensive side of the ball. The Bulldogs, meanwhile, should have one of the better defensive lines in college football.
Georgia has to get pressure on D.J. Uiagalelei early and often to win Saturday night’s battle.
No. 3 Clemson takes on No. 5 Georgia at 7:30 p.m. ET on ABC.
