Whenever we get to the 2020 NBA Draft, it promises to be one of the most unpredictable we’ve seen. There is no definitive favorite to go No. 1, like we usually have.
The top pick will likely come down to which team wins the draft lottery. The three players most often cited as being in contention for No. 1 overall are Georgia guard Anthony Edwards, Memphis center James Wiseman, and point guard LaMelo Ball, the youngest brother of Lonzo Ball who most recently played professional ball in Australia.
Stadium‘s Jeff Goodman recently put together a new mock draft. He had the Golden State Warriors landing the top pick, and going with Wiseman, the athletic big man who can slot in to the starting lineup with a healthy Steph Curry and Klay Thompson returning. It has been reported that he’s the top player on their board.
Dick Vitale has shared his top four for the draft in response. He’s going with the super-athletic Edwards at No. 1, followed by Wiseman, Ball, and Dayton superstar Obi Toppin.

Goodman has Edwards at No. 2, going to the Cleveland Cavaliers as they continue to try and claw their way back from the devastation of losing LeBron James for a second time.
Ball is sent to the Minnesota Timberwolves, a very interesting destination that would place him alongside D’Angelo Russell and Karl-Anthony Towns. Goodman pencils Topping in at No. 4 to the Atlanta Hawks, giving that team yet another fun athletic young player.
Right now, we don’t know when the NBA season will get back going, nor do we have a great idea when the draft lottery or NBA Draft will take place.
