Report: Alabama's Kirby Smart Is Georgia's Top Target To Replace Mark Richt

Mark Richt is out as Georgia's football coach, the program confirmed this afternoon. Richt, 55, had been the Bulldogs' coach since 2001. 

Who will Georgia be targeting to replace Richt in Athens, Ga.?

According to SB Nation, longtime Alabama defensive coordinator Kirby Smart is the Bulldogs' top choice. From their report

Alabama defensive coordinator Kirby Smart is the Bulldogs' top target, SB Nation's Steven Godfrey reports. Smart played defensive back at Georgia from 1995-98, and was on the coaching staff in 1999 (administrative assistant) and 2005 (running backs coach).
