Report: Georgia Has Fired Head Coach Mark Richt

Saturday night, after an emotional scene in Baton Rouge, LSU decided to keep Les Miles on as head coach of the Tigers. It looks like Georgia's Mark Richt will not be spared the same opportunity. ESPN's Mark Schlabach is reporting Sunday morning that Richt has been fired as head coach of the Bulldogs. Richt led the program to a 9-3 record in 2015, but his Bulldogs lost important games to Alabama, Florida and Tennessee.

Richt, in 15 seasons in Athens, posted a 145-51 record and won two SEC championships. He did not, however, ever take UGA to the national championship game - a fact that his detractors constantly used against him. It remains to be seen whether he'll continue to coach elsewhere. More as we learn it.
