Saturday's Georgia-Notre Dame game is one of the biggest non-conference matchups in recent memory. People have had this game circled on their calendar a year or more, and the interest has driven ticket prices through the roof.
According to Forbes via 247Sports, the average ticket price for the game is currently $611. But if the number climbs just a little bit higher, it could break the record for highest-average price to a college game.
However, that mark is currently held by the 2017 regular season game between Georgia and Notre Dame in South Bend. Tickets to that game went for $619 per seat on Vivid Seats.
The Bulldogs and the Irish are a combined 5-0, and ranked No. 3 and No. 7 respectively. It is the second matchup between two top 10 teams so far this season.
But despite how close they are in the rankings, there's a clear favorite in this game.
As of writing, Georgia is a 14-point favorite as the home team.
Nevertheless, it is still expected to be a very exciting matchup, and the game is going to break at least one record.
Sanford Stadium's attendance record will be broken when Georgia opens up 500 additional temporary seats to meet demand.
Saturday's game will be played at 8:00 p.m. EST on CBS.
