The former Georgia star is high on the future Bulldogs standout.

Georgia running backs Nick Chubb and Sony Michel hogged the carries and the spotlight for the SEC champs this season, leaving D'Andre Swift to wait his turn as a true freshman.

When he did get touches, Swift was sensational. He rushed for 618 yards and three touchdowns on just 81 carries, good for 7.6 yards per touch.

Swift added 17 receptions for 153 yards and a score. He was also the Bulldogs' leading rusher in an early-season win over Missouri and the SEC title game against Auburn.

All of this leaves fans excited to see the onetime five-star recruit become the guy in the backfield for the Dawgs. Former Georgia star Todd Gurley is all-in on Swift's potential.

In an exclusive interview with The Spun this afternoon, Gurley predicted that the Philadelphia (Pa.) native will win the 2018 Heisman Trophy.

"Swift is up next. The next Heisman," Gurley said. "I'm already counting it. Preseason Heisman vote right now. Seeing him in high school and seeing what he did with those other two backs, it's crazy. I can only imagine what he'll be able to do when he's the feature back."

Swift is currently 35-1 to win the Heisman, according to Bovada.

With Swift next in line, plus Elijah Holyfield and Brian Herrien in support and Zamir White and James Cook coming in, Georgia should once again be Running Back U.

The future is bright in Athens.
