Todd Gurley Emerges As A Heisman Favorite Following Clemson Win, Mark Richt Calls RB 'Best Player In America'

At halftime of the Clemson-Georgia game, many began to question the Bulldogs' use of Todd Gurley. The star junior running back had just five touches through two quarters, with the contest tied, 21-21.

The people questioning Mark Richt's use of his star included the player himself.

"First half, they didn't really give me the ball," Gurley said post-game, "so I started to ask for the ball more and more in the second half. That's when I get my wind, my second wind, and I'm able to keep pushing."

The coaches obliged to the player's request. Gurley finished the night with 15 carries for 198 yards and three touchdowns and a 100-yard kickoff return for a touchdown.

Georgia ends Week 1 with a 45-21 win against the Tigers; Gurley will head into Week 2 as the Heisman favorite.
