Two Georgia Football Players Charged With Felonies For Campus BB Gun Incident

Two Georgia football players have been charged with felonies for allegedly shooting and possessing BB guns on campus.

Julian Rochester and Chad Clay, Bulldogs' freshmen, were jailed this morning after being charged with having a weapon in a school zone and criminal damage in the second degree.

The two players were reportedly "shooting solo cups in their dorm room with a BB gun, which left marks on the door and in other areas of the room." According to the statute, pretty much anything that can be shot is defined as having a weapon on campus, “including a straw and spitball,” per reports

Georgia coach Kirby Smart released the following statement.

Both players are early-enrollee freshmen. Rochester was a four-star defensive lineman and Clay a three-star cornerback.
