4-Star OL Marquan McCall, No. 1 Player In Michigan, Commits To Kentucky

This isn't something you see often in recruiting.

Oak Park (Mich.) four-star offensive guard Marquan McCall, the No. 1 player in Michigan, committed to Kentucky tonight. He announced the news on Twitter.

The Wildcats had been trending for McCall, and he did visit for the program's spring game in April. Still, it is uncommon to see UK poach a highly-ranked kid from Michigan, particularly one with offers from Michigan and Michigan State.

Of course, two things must be said here. It's unclear how strong Michigan or Michigan State pursued McCall, or vice versa, and it is still a long way until signing day. Kids change their minds all the time.

For now, this is a very impressive get for UK. The 6-foot-4, 320-pound McCall is the fourth-ranked offensive guard and No. 111 player in the 2018 class, according to 247Sports' Composite Rankings.
