Coach Cal Did Something No Coach Had Done Since 2011

Coach Calipari being interviewed.

The Wildcats' coach did something no coach had done in a while.

It had been a while since a USA Basketball team lost a game.

Until Saturday.

The Team USA squad fell to Canada in the FIBA U19 World Cup on Saturday afternoon, 99-87. Team Canada was led by R.J. Barrett, the No. 1 overall recruit in the 2019 class, who scored 38 points and had 13 rebounds and five assists.

John Calipari, Team USA's coach at the World Cup, became the first American coach to lose a game since 2011.

Team USA recovered and beat Spain in the third-place game to take home the bronze medal.
