Few NFL players had as close of a relationship to former Kentucky and New York Giants quarterback Jared Lorenzen as Eli Manning. The two came into the league together in 2004 and were teammates for four seasons, winning Super Bowl XLII together.

So it should come as little surprise that he was delighted to see the late Lorenzen's young son Tayden at last night's preseason game.

At halftime of the preseason game between the New York Giants and Cincinnati Bengals, Tayden took part in a youth team scrimmage with his cousin Tucker Lee. But Lorenzen's son also got to meet Manning in a very heartwarming moment.

Lorenzen was an undrafted free agent out of Kentucky in 2004, the same year the Giants acquired Manning as the No. 1 overall pick.

He was initially the third-string quarterback on the Giants behind Manning and Tim Hasselbeck. But after engineering a game-winning drive against the Baltimore Ravens in the 2006 preseason, he was named the primary backup.

Sadly, Lorenzen passed away in early July at the age of 38 following a battle with numerous health problems.

Manning was personally heartbroken after losing his former teammate, and attended his funeral in July.

Seeing Eli Manning and Lorenzen's son reconnect through football was certainly as nice a story as you'll find this summer.
