Georgia has an opening at offensive coordinator after Tennessee hired Jim Chaney to return to Knoxville, where he coached from 2009-12. The Bulldogs may fill Chaney’s spot with another SEC assistant.
According to SB Nation’s Steven Godfrey, Kentucky offensive coordinator Eddie Gran is a “name to watch” at Georgia. Gran has been at Kentucky since 2016 as the offensive coordinator and running backs coach.
Kentucky put up middling results under Gran this season, but Godfrey notes that his Cincinnati offenses put up major numbers. Gran was the OC of the Bearcats from 2013-15.
Before that, he was the associate head coach, running backs coach and special teams coordinator at Florida State under Jimbo Fisher. There, he was recognized for his stellar recruiting results, particularly in-state.
Gran has also been an assistant Tennessee and Auburn. His extensive experience with running backs could also be attractive to Georgia, which will have D’Andre Swift, Brian Herrien and James Cook returning at the position next fall.
A name to watch at Georgia is Kentucky OC Eddie Gran. Wildcats were conservative this season but Gran’s Cincinnati offenses were very explosive. He’s also a very strong Florida recruiter.

Georgia is coming off a 10-3 season, which included another SEC East title and a berth in the Sugar Bowl.
The Bulldogs will likely be a preseason top-five team in 2019.
