John Calipari Takes To Twitter To Downplay Dan Patrick Show Controversy

Thursday, Kentucky head coach John Calipari joined Dan Patrick on his radio show, and while most of the conversation was civil, for a few minutes, the two got into it over Coach Cal's decision to play nine players instead of seven during the stretch run of the 2014-2015 season. A number of sites, including ours, posted articles on the exchange, which turned a bit chippy at times.

Friday, Calipari has taken to Twitter to try to downplay the situation. He says that he's very comfortable with Patrick, and that he and his wife were laughing at the reaction afterwards. He also poked fun at Patrick for his woeful basketball career.

">@dpshow yesterday. I would only go on a show with someone I’m comfortable with.

Ellen and I were laughing at the response to the @dpshow yesterday. I would only go on a show with someone I’m comfortable with.

">@dpshow for 25 years and throughout that time I can tell you one thing has never changed: He could never play basketball. LOL.

I’ve known @dpshow for 25 years and throughout that time I can tell you one thing has never changed: He could never play basketball. LOL.

Given the fact that Kentucky lost in the Final Four, Calipari has been forced to defend his system. It's clear that while Patrick somehow hit a nerve, Calipari doesn't hold any ill will.
