Kentucky Announces Non-Conference Game Vs. Virginia Tech

Kentucky announced a non-conference game against a 2017 NCAA Tournament team.

Kentucky will host Virginia Tech in a non-conference game on Saturday, December 16.

The Wildcats announced the news on Twitter this afternoon.

This is the fifth UK non-conference game that has been revealed. Kentucky will play Kansas, Monmouth and UCLA at a neutral site next season, while hosting Harvard and Virginia Tech. Other games will be announced in the coming weeks.

The Hokies reached the NCAA Tournament last year under Buzz Williams, finishing with a 22-11 record.

Speaking of NCAA Tournament, the last time UK and Virginia Tech played was in the second round of the Big Dance in 1996. The Wildcats romped 84-60 en route to the national title.
