Kentucky Football Player Arrested For Allegedly Stealing A Parking Meter

Kentucky football player William Thomas Collins, a junior walk-on fullback, was arrested early Friday morning on a number of charges, according to WKYT TV. Collins, according to police, stole a parking meter while intoxicated. Yep, you're reading that correctly. Here's more:

A police report says an officer saw Collins and another person walking on the sidewalk on East Maxwell Street. The police report says Collins was carrying a parking meter. When they saw the officer, they took off, according to the report.

"The suspects saw my vehicle and placed the parking meter down," the report says. "I activated my emergency equipment and pulled up beside them."

The officer's report says they began running and he yelled for them to stop and get down to the ground. Collins stayed and "admitted to taking the parking meter" because it was on the ground.

Collins is being charged with alcohol intoxication, criminal mischief, theft and fleeing and evading. The junior, who has been with the team since 2013, has yet to see any playing time.
