Kentucky is now the first SEC school to sell its football stadium naming rights.
Monday, according to Scout.com's Patrick Loney, Kentucky will officially announce a major corporate partnership during an afternoon press conference. The school has reportedly sold the naming rights to its football stadium to Kroger - one of the largest grocery store chains in the United States.
Kentucky's football stadium was previously called Commonwealth Stadium. According to Loney, it will now be called Kroger Field.
Kentucky is the first SEC school to make such a move. Not everyone is impressed.
Regardless of the name, the Kentucky football team will be looking to build upon a 7-6 campaign in 2016. The first home contest for the Wildcats will come against Eastern Kentucky on September 9.
