Now you're probably asking yourself: Why exactly would Kentucky play Monmouth?
Well, it probably has a lot to do with the Wildcats' recruiting:
All of these guys are from the New York/ New Jersey area, so it's a great opportunity for the Cats to play close to home.
Last season, Monmouth went 27-7, winning the Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference regular season title, but they missed the NCAA Tournament after failing to win the conference tournament.
Kentucky and Monmouth have never faced off on the court, so the contest on December 9 will be the first meeting between the two.
According to 247 Sports, other non-conference opponents for the Wildcats include Louisville, Kansas, UCLA and Harvard.
