The Kentucky Wildcats already knew they’d face the Michigan State Spartans to begin their season. However, the NCAA didn’t reveal the tipoff time for this matchup until this afternoon.
Kentucky enters this fall with another talented roster. John Calipari has Ashton Hagans, EJ Montgomery, Nick Richards and Immanuel Quickley returning for this season.
Rex Chapman, a former player for the Kentucky Wildcats, shared a glowing review of this year’s team.
Although the Wildcats should be favored in most games they play this upcoming season, they could be underdogs against the Spartans.
Michigan State has a few key members from its Final Four team back for this year. Cassius Winston, Aaron Henry and Xavier Tillman should form a solid trio for Tom Izzo.
Fans will get a potential preview of the national championship when Kentucky faces Michigan State.
Tipoff for the season opener between these programs is at 9:30 p.m. ET from Madison Square Garden.

The early game for the State Farm Champions Classic is an epic clash between Duke and Kansas. It’ll be tough to top that showdown, but Kentucky and Michigan State should put on a show for those in attendance.
Michigan State and Kentucky are most likely going to be ranked inside the top five when the season begins.
