Story: Kentucky wins against a tough Florida team on Senior Day.
After two consecutive losses, Kentucky had to pull out a win to cling to any NCAA tournament hopes.
The Wildcats and the Gators went back-and-forth in the first half and ended up tied at the break. Florida came out hot to start the second half and built a seven point lead when Scottie Wilbekin drained a three with just less than eight minutes remaining. But little did the Gators know, that would be their last bucket of the game as Kentucky took off and Florida's offense stagnated. Even though Kentucky's offense came alive down the stretch, the Wildcats won this game with defense. Florida missed its last 11 shots of the game, and the Cats also had five blocks and seven steals.
"I think this wins shows what we are," Coach Cal said. Kentucky has been squarely on the bubble but does this win put them squarely in the dance? Beating Florida gives the Cats another quality win to add to their NCAA tournament resume with the SEC tournament right around the corner.
