Malik Monk Drills 3 With 1.9 Seconds Remaining To Give Kentucky Massive Win Over North Carolina

Malik Monk takes a shot against North Carolina.

Kentucky beat North Carolina in an absolute classic at the T-Mobile Center in Las Vegas, 103-100. Malik Monk was an absolute monster for the Wildcats.

Malik Monk put together one of the great individual performances you'll ever see from a freshman, scoring 47 points in the Kentucky win. He was the guy for the Wildcats in the game's biggest moment as well, hitting a dramatic three from the wing with his team down 100-98 in the waning moments.

There was no one better than Bill Raftery to make that call. Monk's final stat line is absurd: 18-for-28 for 47 points, 8-for-12 from three-point range, along with two assists and a steal. His performance was pretty historic.

North Carolina got an amazing effort from Justin Jackson, who scored 34 points on 17 shots himself, but it wasn't enough to overcome the absolute onslaught from Kentucky's prodigious freshman. No. 6 Kentucky goes to 10-1 with the huge win, and has a nice signature 'W' on its resume. No. 7 UNC falls to 10-2.
