Michael Buffer kicked off Kentucky's Big Blue Madness on Friday with his legendary boxing call.

World-renowned boxing ring announcer Michael Buffer paid a special visit to Lexington, Kentucky for the Wildcats' Big Blue Madness. Every year, Kentucky kicks off its basketball season with a bang, and this year was no different.

Buffer mimicked his famous boxing call with a basketball twist, "Let's get ready to roundball," just for this occasion.

Numerous other festivities took place Friday night.

Kentucky men's head basketball coach, John Calipari, addressed the raucous crowd with the following:

“You people are crazy. Only here. Only here. I am honored and humbled to be your coach. This program did not start with me. This program was started and built by Coach Adolph Rupp, who won four national titles and was carried on by a group of coaches who maintained that level before me.”

Several former Kentucky players who are currently in the NBA stopped by as well, including John Wall, DeMarcus Cousins, and Willie Cauley-Stein.

The festivities eventually gave way to some actual basketball as the Wildcats took the floor for drills and a scrimmage.
