NCAA Tournament Reveal: Kentucky, Louisville In The Same Region

If the college basketball season ended today, Kentucky and Louisville would be 2 and 3 seeds, respectively, in the same region.

The top 16 teams in the NCAA tournament bracket were revealed today, with Villanova claiming the No. 1 overall seed and the top spot in the east region. The most interesting part, though, were two other teams in that region: Louisville and Kentucky.

Here is the full East region top four, which is stacked with defending national champion Villanova and a very talented UCLA club led by superstar guard Lonzo Ball.

If the season ended today, Louisville would be a 2-seed in the east, and Kentucky would be a 3-seed. A Kentucky - Louisville game in the Sweet 16 would be a dream matchup for fans, but the rankings are more than likely going to change as the season wraps up. The two hated rivals have faced off six times in the NCAA Tournament, with the last game coming in the 2014 regional semifinals. Kentucky holds a 4-2 lead in NCAA Tournament games between the two. Louisville won the regular season game between the two teams 73-70 at the KFC Yum! Center.
