Kentucky basketball players are going all-out to honor injured big man Alex Poythress, who will miss the remainder of the season with a torn ACL. The squad is wearing “Roar for 22” shirts during warmups today, while sophomore guard Aaron Harrison is doing something more personal. Harrison wrote Poythress’ initials and number on the back of his sneakers for today’s game.
Poythress tore his ACL during practice on Thursday, according to Wildcats coach John Calipari. The junior averaged 5.5 points, 3.8 rebounds and 1.5 blocks in 20.3 minutes per game for UK.
Kentucky and North Carolina will square off in Rupp Arena at 12:00 P.M. EST today. The game will be televised on CBS.
