We’re still over a month away from college hoops returning, but it’s never too early for fans in Kentucky to start thinking about another championship run. Well, it appears the Wildcats have the roster to do just that this season. Kentucky legend Rex Chapman had a chance to meet the returning players on the Wildcats. He sounds very optimistic about this team heading into the fall.
The Kentucky Wildcats welcome another talented class of freshmen, which includes five-star wings Tyrese Maxey and Kahlil Whitney.
Every year, the Wildcats have a plethora of young talent. The difference for this year’s squad is that a handful of players are back for another season.
John Calipari has an experienced backcourt with Ashton Hagans and Immanuel Quickley to go with a frontcourt led by rising sophomore EJ Montgomery.
“I just had a chance to interview all of our new Kentucky players, all of our returning players and I gotta tell you, one of the more intellectually curious teams I’ve been around ever in Kentucky basketball history,” Chapman said. ” It’s gonna be a fun year. These guys are studs. Athletic, unbelievable. I’m pumped. Let’s go.”

Rex Chapman spent two years at Kentucky before entering the NBA Draft where he became a first-round pick. Now, the former shooting guard enters his fourth year as a member of the UK Radio Network.
As for Kentucky, it’ll open the season against Michigan State in the Champions Classic at Madison Square Garden.
