College basketball is still more than a few months away from returning, but this afternoon we got a big scheduling announcement. Just about an hour ago, the showdowns for this year’s SEC/Big 12 Challenge were revealed.
Not every program from the SEC will participate in the challenge due to the unequal number of teams. However, it shouldn’t affect the overall product this season.
This leaves fans with 10 games to watch during this SEC/Big 12 Challenge. Out of all the matchups on display, the most intriguing might be between Kentucky and Texas Tech.
Another matchup worth tuning in for will be Tennessee facing Kansas on the road at Allen Fieldhouse. Both teams should be impressive next season, and the Jayhawks are expected to be national title contenders.
While most of the attention will be geared around Kansas and Kentucky, the rest of the challenge features a handful of prominent games.
Jon Rothstein released all the matchups on Twitter.
