The Los Angeles Lakers Are Reportedly Considering Taking De'Aaron Fox At No. 2

Lonzo Ball to the Lakers at No. 2? Not so fast.

When the NBA's Draft Lottery was unveiled last night, and the Los Angeles Lakers received the second overall pick, it became widely assumed the team would select UCLA star Lonzo Ball.

After all, Ball is from California, his dad has spoken endlessly about wanting his son to play for the Lakers, and it just seems like a natural fit.

However, Draft Express' Jonathan Givony says that while Ball is the "heavy favorite" to be picked No. 2, LA is also debating another point guard: Kentucky's De'Aaron Fox.

The second tweet from Givony is most interesting. It seems unlikely that Ball's people would want a head-to-head workout with Fox, considering what happened when the two matched up in the NCAA Tournament.

Fox went off for 39 points, outplaying Ball (10 points, eight assists) and leading Kentucky to an 86-75 win in the Sweet 16. The two also squared off in the regular season, with Ball (14 points, seven rebounds, six assists) and the Bruins getting the better of Fox (20 points, nine assists) and the Wildcats in Lexington.

There is still more than a month until the actual NBA Draft, so expect plenty of chatter leading up to that point.
