Watch: John Calipari Says Reporter Laura Rutledge Apologized For Asking About Crowd Chant

John Calipari and Laura Rutledge had an awkward moment on ESPN.

Kentucky head coach John Calipari addressed his awkward halftime interview in his post-game press conference last night.

You have probably seen the footage of the Missouri crowd chanting "Cal, you suck" as Calipari was interviewed by SEC Network reporter Laura Rutledge during halftime. Rutledge tried to ask Cal about the chant, but he blew off the question and walked away.

After the game, Calipari said Rutledge came over and apologized for the question. He claimed to have no idea what she was referring to.

"She came over and apologized after the game. I'm like 'I don't even know what you're talking about.' I have no idea.

"If I walk in the building, and they're not cussing me, booing me, I will retire. It's time to retire. If I walk in an opponent's court and they're cheering me, either you should fire me or I should be retired."

Let's be honest. Coach Cal probably knew what Rutledge was talking about, but he did a good job playing it off.

Kentucky survived a scare against Mizzou, eventually winning 72-62 to move to 23-5 overall.
