What Seed Did Kentucky Get In The 2014 NCAA Tournament?

Seed: For the upcoming 2014 NCAA Tournament, the Kentucky Wildcats were given an 8-seed in the Midwest-region. They are coached by John Calipari and hail from the SEC.

Where: They will open play against Kansas State in St. Louis on Friday.

Why: Kentucky finished the regular season with an 12-6 record in the SEC, good for second place in the conference behind Florida. The Wildcats' only great win was over hated rival Louisville, but they faltered against other top competition like Kansas, Florida, and UNC.

Ceiling: Kentucky's talent has been overtaken by its youth this season. The Wildcats came into the season as the preseason No. 1 team, but have fallen out of the rankings completely due to uneven play. Kentucky has a lot of potential, but it doesn't seem like they're ready to meet it this season. A tough second round match-up could very well be the end for this edition of the Wildcats.
