On Tuesday, Xavier Peters became a very high-profile commitment for Kentucky. A day later, and he may be having second thoughts.
Peters, a four-star linebacker out of Ohio, is ranked No. 8 in the state and No. 17 among outside linebackers.
247Sports has him as the No. 246 player in the class of 2018.
On Tuesday, he announced his commitment to Kentucky via Twitter.
Today, that tweet is gone, as are any references to Kentucky football in his Twitter bio. He did post this somewhat-cryptic tweet.
As of this writing, he has not confirmed his decommitment anywhere, but that is certainly what this looks like.
Last month, Kentucky was joined by Alabama, Cincinnati, Florida, Georgia, Penn State, Oregon, Tennessee, Texas, and USC in Peters' top 10.
He also holds offers from Indiana, Louisville, LSU, Michigan State, Oklahoma, South Carolina, Virginia Tech, Wisconsin, and numerous others.
We'll update as more on Peters' status is revealed. As of now, the recruiting websites consider him a Kentucky commit, but all evidence is that something has changed in the last 24 hours.
