LSU guard Eric Gaines is now in the transfer portal.

The news was first reported by Matt Zenitz of On3Sports. Gaines is now the eighth Tigers player to enter the portal.

He averaged nine points per game this past season as a sophomore.

Before Gaines entered the portal, the LSU total was at seven on Wednesday after Justice Williams and Bradley Ezewiro submitted their names.

It's understandable that LSU would go through a major transition going into the 2022-23 season. Will Wade is no longer the head coach after he was fired earlier this month, and interim head coach Kevin Nickleberry is now on Patrick Ewing's staff at Georgetown.

Matt McMahon the new head coach of the Tigers and will want to bring some of his own players into the fold. He should have plenty of roster space now after the recent defections.

We'll have to see if this list continues to grow throughout the offseason.
