Bo Pelini's second stint as defensive coordinator for LSU football isn't going the way fans were hoping for. In fact, some are already calling for head coach Ed Orgeron to fire Pelini, especially following the defense's performance on Saturday.

LSU fans are wishing they could rewind time back to the 2019 season. It's been that kind of rebuilding year for Orgeron's Tigers.

LSU football was blown out by Bo Nix and the Auburn Tigers on Saturday. Entering Saturday's game, the Auburn offense had struggled to find any sort of identity and rythym. But Auburn had no problem moving the ball against the LSU defense, putting up plenty of points.

That's been a theme of sorts for the LSU Tigers this season, and Pelini may be to blame. The LSU defensive coordinator is getting blasted on Saturday for his defense's horrendous performance against Auburn. Some believe Pelini won't even make it the full season before getting fired.

It appears Ed Orgeron's most questionable decision up to this point was hiring Bo Pelini. Simply put, he's been awful.

LSU football didn't have to rely on its defense last year to win a national championship, though. The Tigers had one of the best offenses in college football history last season. The loss of Joe Burrow this season can't be overstated.

But it's the LSU defense that's unraveling following last season's national championship. Pelini has plenty of work to do to try and retain his job with the Tigers.
