Few people in attendance at last night’s Heisman Trophy ceremony were as proud as Coach O. The LSU head coach made it clear how proud he was of quarterback Joe Burrow for days and weeks leading up to Burrow’s historic win.
So it should come as no surprise that the often serious-looking head coach was excited to see Burrow claim his prize.
Photos from the event show Ed Orgeron grinning from ear-to-ear as his quarterback gave his speech.
He looks happier in this photo than he did after beating Alabama or Georgia this year.

It’s not the first time Coach O has seen one of his pupils hoist the Heisman Trophy. While he was an assistant at Miami (FL) and at USC he saw Gino Torretta, Carson Palmer and Matt Leinart win the prestigious award.
But Coach O still has plenty of time to make the 2019 season even more memorable. His LSU Tigers are the No. 1 seed in the College Football Playoff and are set to take on Oklahoma in the Peach Bowl later this month.
If the Tigers can knock off the Sooners, look for Orgeron to put on another big smile similar to this one.
