LSU hosts Alabama next weekend, and defensive back Dwayne Thomas think the Tigers will dominate the Crimson Tide.
LSU and Alabama are both on bye this weekend ahead of their massive SEC West showdown in Baton Rouge on November 5. The Crimson Tide offense has been incredibly impressive this year, scoring at least 33 points in every game en route to an 8-0 start and No. 1 ranking. LSU has looked good under Ed Orgeron, and the Tigers defense is always solid, but few expect them to shut down Lane Kiffin's offense.
Dwayne Thomas is one of those people, however.
In an article by Ross Dellenger in The Advocate, Thomas says that he expects his defense to dominate Alabama's offense next Saturday.
“I really see us dominating this offense. I really see us dominating this team,” Thomas said of the top-ranked and unbeaten Tide, a team that’s won seven of its eight games this year by double digits.
“This is the year,” he said. “We’ve been letting them off the hook for the last couple of years. This is my senior year. We’re going out with a bang. It’s time for us to bring that win back. We’re going to be at home. I feel like we have the edge to take it to them, and we’re going to take it to them. I feel like we’re going to dominate this game.”
That will be far easier said than done. Jalen Hurts has been very impressive as a freshman, and is surrounded by weapons all over the field, like running backs Damien Harris and Bo Scarbrough and receivers Calvin Ridley and ArDarius Stewart.
If LSU does, in fact, dominate Alabama, it throws a massive wrench into the entire college football landscape. We'll believe it when we see it, however.
Alabama-LSU will kick off at 8 p.m. ET on November 5. CBS has the broadcast.
