For much of last night, Ole Miss looked like it was going to pummel LSU in Oxford. The Rebels built a 17-0 lead that they carried into the second half on the Tigers until Les Miles’ squad finally woke up late in the third quarter. LSU charged back hard, tying the game 17-17, and many teams would have folded after losing all of the momentum. Not Ole Miss though — not last night. The Rebels played tough to the very end, and squeaked out a victory on Andrew Ritter’s field goal as time expired.
Interestingly enough, before the game, head coach Hugh Freeze showed his team a motivational video with the theme “Never Quit” — it appears that his players really took the message to heart.
