Yet another Jefferson will play for LSU football: wide receiver Justin Jefferson, brother of former Tiger quarterback Jordan Jefferson and safety Rickey Jefferson.
Jefferson is a three-star wide receiver in the class of 2017, but he never committed to a school despite some offers.
Clearly, that decision worked out.
This evening, he signed with the LSU Tigers, and will join the team for camp, after a scholarship opened up.
Jefferson made the announcement on Twitter.
The scholarship opened up for Jefferson after the departure of three-star offensive line signee Seth Stewart earlier in the summer. The program is low on wide receivers, so Jefferson adds some depth at the position, and gives an opportunity to a Tiger legacy.
Jefferson had offers from Northwestern and Tulane out of high school.
LSU now has 23 members in the class of 2017, which ranks No. 3 in the SEC and No. 7 overall.
