From early September until the beginning of November, LSU running back Leonard Fournette was the clear-cut, runaway Heisman Trophy favorite. The Tigers' sophomore was on-pace for one of the best seasons ever, leading then-undefeated LSU.
Les Miles' team fell apart down the stretch, though, and so did Fournette's Heisman Trophy chances.
When the award's finalists were announced Monday night, Fournette didn't hear his name called (Derrick Henry, Christian McCaffrey and Deshaun Watson did).
Fournette seemed surprise by his failure to be named. So was his coach.
Thankfully for LSU, Fournette's got at least one more season in Baton Rouge, La. He'll be a frontrunner for the trophy next season, too.
