It looks like Kelvin Joseph’s won’t be back at LSU this season after all. After withdrawing his name from the transfer portal earlier this summer, Joseph is apparently back on the open market.
According to Matt Zenitz of AL.com, Joseph has returned to the transfer portal. The report comes less than two months after Joseph’s father announced that he would be staying at LSU.
As a prospect in 2018, Joseph was a four-star recruit ranked No. 42 in the country. He was the No. 5 safety in the nation, and the No. 2 player from the state of Louisiana.
He finished his freshman season with 12 tackles.

Despite the potential loss of Joseph, LSU is by no means in danger of having the title of “DBU” taken from them any time soon.
The Tigers are slated to bring in a top-two cornerback and multiple top-five safeties over the next two recruiting cycles.
There were no favorites to land Joseph back in May, and there are no favorites as of writing. He did not make any known visits during his brief initial stint on the transfer portal.
Will Joseph stay in the SEC, or will he try his hand a little bit farther from home?
