LSU Football: Former 5-Star LB Clifton Garrett Has Left The Program

Clifton Garrett was a five-star outside linebacker in the class of 2014, and the No. 1 player from the state of Illinois. He played his first college football season at LSU, but has left the program, according to the school.

247Sports' Justin Hopkins has more on the transfer, which is a big loss for Les Miles' defense.

Sources inform 247Sports that Garrett will opt to enroll at a junior college, not yet determined, and continue his football career. Garrett has already departed and has no plans of returning.

As you'd expect, Garrett had offers from just about every school in the country as a high school recruit. He probably won't be lacking for suitors after his junior college stop is complete.
