Friday afternoon, a number of reports surfaced that LSU head coach Les Miles indicated to boosters at a luncheon that he'll be coaching his final game for the Tigers this Saturday against Texas A&M. It didn't take long for the school to issue an official statement regarding the matter.
LSU's statement, released on Twitter, informs fans that Miles has "not resigned" and has not "indicated" that he will be resigning. It's an interesting choice of wording, given the situation.
To be clear, there have been no reports that Miles will be resigning. If Miles isn't the head coach of the Tigers in 2016, it'll likely be because the school opted to go in a different direction.
