LSU offensive lineman Maea Teuhema has been suspended indefinitely from the program.
The LSU offensive line just took a big hit.
Earlier this morning, LSU announced that junior offensive lineman Maea Teuhema has been indefinitely suspended from the team for "violation of team rules."
The news was first reported by The Advocate's Ross Dellenger.
Check it out:
On Monday, head coach Ed Orgeron told the media that Teuhema had not begun practice yet due to "some academic stuff."
“He’s working on some academic stuff as we know it right now,” Orgeron said on Monday, per 247 Sports. “We’ll know more about it in the next couple of days, I’m sure. We are unsure of his status, to be honest. We’re going to see what happens there."
Clearly, things didn't exactly pan out in the Tigers' favor, and it's a huge blow to an offensive line that already lacks depth. Teuhema was expected to start at right guard for the Tigers, and the backups don't have nearly as much as experience.
Redshirt freshman Lloyd Cushenberry and sophomore Donavaughn Campbell are the most likely candidates to take over the starting job.
