LSU Mascot Mike The Tiger's Cancer Is Spreading

Sad news out of Louisiana this morning. LSU's live tiger mascot Mike VI's rare cancer has spread.

LSU announced the news on the mascot's official Twitter account.

Mike VI was diagnosed with spindle cell sarcoma back in May. Without treatment, he could have passed away in a couple of months, but with it could live up to two years.

Mike was born in 2005 and has been the LSU live mascot since 2007. We wish him the best as he continues his fight.

LSU football travels to Florida this weekend to take on the Gators. Kickoff is set for noon E.T. on ESPN.

Update: According to doctors, Mike doesn't have much time left and will be euthanized if he begins to suffer.

Our thoughts and prayers are with Mike and the entire LSU community.
