Former LSU offensive lineman La'el Collins' draft stock has plummeted over the last week or so. The 6-foot-4, 305-pound offensive tackle is set to be questioned by police about the death of a 29-year-old woman he reportedly had a relationship with. Collins is reportedly not a suspect in the murder, but his involvement in the case has caused NFL teams to stay away.
Collins wasn't selected in the first round Thursday night and might not get selected at all. His agent tried to get him out of this draft and into the Supplemental Draft, which occurs at a later time; by then, perhaps his name will be cleared.
He has the support of LSU quarterback Brandon Harris, his former teammate, who says the team that selects him will be getting the steal of the draft.
The NFL Draft's second round begins tonight at 7 p.m. E.T. It will be televised on ESPN.
