LSU vs. Florida – Game Time, TV Schedule, Line, Preview, Predictions

It's rare that an LSU vs. Florida game isn't one of the SEC's marquee matchups in a given week, but that's where we are right now. The Tigers have struggled to find rhythm on offense and sit with an 0-2 league record and a ridiculous schedule ahead. Florida has faced similar issues, and now must deal with the circus involving quarterback Treon Harris, who was accused of sexual assault early Sunday morning.

LSU is coming off of an uninspiring performance against Auburn, in which the Tigers fell 41-7. Florida pulled off a come-from-behind victory last week against Tennessee, scoring 10 unanswered points in the fourth quarter to pick off the Volunteers on the road. The Tigers probably need this game more, but that doesn't mean it's going to come easy.

Prediction: Last Saturday, trailing 9-0 to Tennessee, Florida head coach Will Muschamp pulled starting quarterback Jeff Driskel in the fourth quarter for freshman Treon Harris. The Gators scored twice in the final period, upending the Volunteers. But given the legal situation Harris now find himself in, Muschamp has no choice but to return to Driskel. It's hard to know how that's going to play out.

LSU has a quarterback controversy of its own. Both Anthony Jennings and Brandon Harris have been splitting time this season, and against Auburn, neither was effective. As inept as Florida has been on offense, the Gators still have one of the better defenses in the conference, so it's not as-if the Tigers are going to have an easy time regardless. LSU will need to establish a ground game if it wants any shot to win.

We'll take Florida to win at home, straight up. The Gators are due a complete performance, and perhaps Driskel will perform to his capabilities with nobody looking over his shoulder.
