Perhaps no team in the country has been more impressive than LSU to start out the season. Last week, the Tigers went to Austin and played a fantastic game against Longhorns en route to a 45-38 win. LSU has always fielded elite defenses, but offensive issues have plagued the team’s success. This weekend, the Tigers host Northwestern State.
Quarterback Joe Burrow appears to be solving those offensive issues. The former transfer is receiving plenty of attention for his improved play this year, and is already in the Heisman discussion. Burrow’s thrown for 749 yards and nine touchdowns through two games.
LSU’s biggest challenge in this one is focusing on the task at hand before their first SEC opponent in week four. If Burrow and the Tigers play like they did last week, this one will be a blowout.
Northwestern State is off to an 0-2 start. Things haven’t gone their way to start out the season. It’s very unlikely this is the week they turn things around.
Here are the details for Saturday’s game:
Game Time: 7:30 PM ET
Spread: LSU -51.5
Announcers: Tom Hart, Jordan Rodgers, Cole Cubelic
This game won’t be in the national spotlight like last week’s LSU-Texas game. But it does give the Tigers an opportunity to clean things up before SEC play begins. It also gives Burrow a chance to add to his already impressive stats.
