LSU basketball isn't off to the start that many Tiger fans had hoped for, but don't blame it on freshman phenom Ben Simmons. So far this season, Simmons is averaging 20.5 points, 13.1 rebounds, 5.4 assists, 2.1 steals, and 1.4 blocks per game. He is .1 steals per game away from leading the Tigers in all five of those categories.
Simmons can do it all, and the basketball greats recognize it. Another similarly well-rounded player, Michigan State and Los Angeles Lakers legend Magic Johnson, thinks he's the best young player he's seen in a long time.

Comparisons to LeBron are daunting, but Simmons has probably exceeded the lofty expectations on him heading into the season. Tonight, his Tigers look for a monumental win against SEC powerhouse Kentucky. An upset of the 'Cats would kick the Simmons hype train into a new gear.
