LSU and New Mexico State are both coming off of tough losses last week. The Tigers were upset at home by a revived Mississippi State squad and the Aggies lost to in-state rival New Mexico in the final minute.
LSU plays its fourth straight home game this Saturday before heading to Auburn and then Florida. New Mexico State is also wrapping up its non-conference play with the toughest opponent on its schedule.

Prediction: Mississippi State jumped out to an early lead at LSU and shut down the Tigers’ rushing attack. Quarterbacks Anthony Jennings and Brandon Harris were forced to air it out in a comeback attempt that fell just short. Reports indicate that Jennings will remain the starter even though Harris clearly performed better.
But the Tigers’ running game should be able to get back on track this week. New Mexico State allowed 432 yards to New Mexico on the ground – and LSU is not New Mexico. Aggies quarterback Tyler Rodgers has had multi-touchdown games in all four contests this season and has thrown for 1,056 yards. It still shouldn’t be close.
After losing to Mississippi State, you can count on Les Miles’ team to come out firing early. We think the home team will jump out to a big lead early and end up covering.
