LSU interim head coach Ed Orgeron provided the latest Leonard Fournette injury update this morning.
The news isn't good. According to Coach O, Fournette is unlikely to play this weekend. Fournette already sat out last week's win over Missouri while nursing an ankle injury.
Orgeron originally thought Fournette would be available against the Gators, but it looks like he needs at least another week to heal. That's good news for UF, although his replacements Derrius Guice and Darrel Williams are quite capable. Both backs topped the 100-yard mark and scored three touchdowns apiece in last week's 42-7 win over Missouri.
For the season, Fournette has rushed for 386 yards and two touchdowns on 67 carries. He also missed LSU's win over Jacksonville State on Sept. 10 with an injury.
LSU and Florida kick off at noon E.T. Saturday in Gainesville.
