Photo: LSU Baseball Star Mason Katz Writes Fantastic Thank You Note To Tigers Fans

Great stuff.

College sports fans are crazy -- we all love to cheer on our teams, sometimes to the point of sanity. Fortunately, we sometimes get reminded that the athletes we support do appreciate our crazy passion.

Mason Katz is the first baseman for the LSU Tigers -- or was, until his career ended on Tuesday in a College World Series loss to the North Carolina Tar Heels. He has been playing for LSU for four years, and decided to write a thank you note to the fans who supported him throughout his time as a student.

Here's a picture of the thank you note that he tweeted out:

This is a pretty cool gesture -- he seems like a good kid. Katz will continue to pursue a career in baseball by attempting to work his way up to the big leagues in the St. Louis Cardinals minor league system -- he was drafted in the 4th round of the MLB Draft two weeks ago.
