Earlier: According to a number of reports, Les Miles informed attendees at the Tiger Gridiron Club luncheon Friday afternoon that Saturday's contest against Texas A&M will be his last as the head coach at LSU. Tigerrag.com was the first to report the news.

According to Jim Kleinpeter of NOLA.com, Miles was "emotional but in control."

"He didn't use those words but he made it clear that Saturday is his last game," one Gridiron club member said. Miles regularly speaks to the club at lunch on Fridays before all home games.

"He said , 'We're a second family to him and he's going to miss us, he appreciates his real friends, and then he told us good bye,'" the source said. "It was very emotional but in control."

Glenn Guilbeau of USA Today also reported the news.

While the news doesn't come as a surprise, LSU will need to outdo itself to find a coach who will put together a better mark than 110-32 in the toughest division in college football. It's going to be an interesting few days in Baton Rouge.
