Report: LSU's Tyrann Mathieu Didn't Want To Play In The National Championship Game

Former LSU star football player Tyrann Mathieu is the subject of some more negative news this week following a report from ESPN the Magazine. According to Mathieu's girlfriend at the time, the cornerback didn't even want to play in the biggest matchup of his life, the 2012 BCS National Championship Game.

"I don't even want to play," he told Sydni Russell, his girlfriend, who was then a freshman at LSU.

Mathieu has made great strides since his reported ten failed drug tests at LSU, but NFL executives hearing that he once had no interest in playing on as big a stage as the BCS title game may be even more hesitant to take a chance on him in the upcoming draft next week.

We'll find out soon enough if/when Mathieu will go.
